b. Information from Financial Institutions

When you choose to link your financial accounts, we use Plaid Inc. (“Plaid”) to securely connect your bank and retrieve financial information.
Through Plaid, we may access:

  • Account balances

  • Transaction data (amount, date, merchant, category, etc.)

We never have access to or store your bank credentials. Those are handled securely by Plaid.

By using our Services, you acknowledge and agree that your personal and financial information will be transferred, stored, and processed by Plaid according to the Plaid Privacy Policy.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Provide, maintain, and improve our Services

  • Display transactions and daily balances

  • Deliver personalized financial insights

  • Assist with transaction categorization

  • Enable chat-based assistance and support

  • Communicate with you about updates, issues, or new features

We also use AI large language models (LLMs) to help provide insights, customer chat, and transaction categorization. These models may process your data temporarily to generate responses or insights but we do not train any AI models on customer data and chats.

3. How We Share Your Information

We do not sell, rent, or trade your data.

We may share your data only in the following limited circumstances:

  • With service providers who help us operate and maintain the platform (e.g., Plaid, analytics tools, AI service providers). These providers are bound by strict confidentiality and data security obligations.

  • To comply with the law, respond to legal process, or requests from government or law enforcement authorities if required.

  • To protect rights and safety, including preventing fraud, abuse, or unauthorized access.

4. Data Retention and Deletion

We retain user data only as long as necessary to provide the Services and comply with applicable laws.

If you unlink your bank accounts, delete your account, or cease using our platform, we will delete associated financial and personal data within a reasonable time period.

5. Data Security

We implement reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect your information from unauthorized access, disclosure, or misuse. This includes:

  • Encrypted data transmission (HTTPS, TLS)

  • Tokenized account connections through Plaid

  • Access controls for employees and systems

  • Periodic review of security practices

However, no system is completely secure. You use our Services at your own risk, and we encourage you to maintain strong passwords and secure your devices.

6. Use of AI and Customer Conversations

Bips may use AI LLMs to assist in generating financial insights, analyzing transactions, and supporting chat interactions.
We are committed to transparency and privacy in how AI is used:

  • We do not disclose customer chats publicly.

  • We do not use your conversations to train machine learning models.

  • AI interactions are used solely to deliver contextual insights and help you understand your financial data.

7. Children’s Privacy

Our Services are not directed to individuals under 18 years of age. We do not knowingly collect or store personal data from children.

8. Your Rights and Choices

You may:

  • Request deletion of your data
